Jeffrey Delott has litigated cases in federal and state courts for over a quarter century, and has handled thousands of disability claims with insurance companies, unions, the Social Security Administration and other municipal entities. Mr. Delott opened his own Long Island based disability practice in 2005, with offices conveniently located in Nassau and Suffolk counties.
Mr. Delott represents claimants throughout the disability process, from the filing of disability applications through the courts on appeal. He has helped thousands of individuals obtain Social Security disability benefits, disability retirement benefits, union disability benefits, and long term disability benefits under individual and group policies from many insurance companies, including UnumProvident, Prudential, Reliance, The Standard, Guardian, Berkshire, Lincoln Financial Group, CIGNA, Equitable, CNA, Hartford, Jefferson Pilot, Aetna, MetLife, Sun Life Financial, Liberty Mutual, Unimerica Life, Highmark, Paul Revere Life Insurance Company and Life Insurance Company of North America.
After he graduated magna cum laude with a B.A. in psychology from the University of Virginia, Mr. Delott received his Juris Doctorate from the University of Pennsylvania School of Law. After working for large corporate law firms and Time Warner in New York City, Mr. Delott moved to Long Island and began working in Binder & Binder’s Nassau and Suffolk County offices as Senior Litigation Attorney, with a caseload devoted to representing individuals seeking disability benefits. Mr. Delott is admitted to practice in the state and federal courts of New York and Pennsylvania, and handles cases in other jurisdictions as well.
While currently a member of the Nassau County Bar Association and National Organization of Social Security Claimants’ Representatives, Mr. Delott has moderated conferences for Association of the Bar for the City of New York, established an in-house litigation department for a mid-size corporation, and has appeared on CNN Burden of Proof and Leeza Gibbons Show as a legal expert. Mr. Delott is also a former Director of the Jericho-Brookville Lions Club, which has raised hundreds of thousands of dollars for the disabled. Furthermore, he has been asked to lecture by the Association of the Bar of the City of New York, the Learning Annex, Libraries, Schools, Health Support Groups, and Service Organizations. Mr. Delott has also been a keynote speaker for The National Business Institute seminar entitled “Handling A Social Security Disability Case.”
